In January 2025, RCWD announced that Hausmann Construction – General Excavating, Joint Venture, with Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. as design engineer, was awarded the design-build project delivery services for the regional high-capacity water transmission line.

Hausmann was also awarded the Construction Manager at Risk contract to complete the Platte Treatment Plant Improvements with ID8 Architecture providing architectural design. Engineering Design Since then, the project has steadily advanced utilizing an aggressive design-build schedule. The SEH engineering team completed design on the first pipeline segment of 9.5 miles, enabling an official construction start in April 2025. To keep the project moving, the engineering team is continuing work on ongoing pipeline segment design; meter and connection site logistics; water storage facility

design; pump station design; utility coordination; and DOT, county, and township coordination.

Construction Progress Simultaneously, the Hausmann-GE contractor team worked closely

with RCWD, SDDANR, and the Owner’s Rep team to meet all contract requirements to begin

mobilization, pipe delivery, and construction. Key pre-construction work items included Quality Control Plan, Critical Path Scheduling, Cost- loaded Budgeting, Environmental Protection Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, and product and supply logistics. As planned,

construction kicked off on time and within budget.
