DESCRIPTION:
As part of the “Connecting Neighbors” Regional Waterline Project, RCWD is constructing a new building at approximately 9,000 sf, with an additional lower level clear well and maintenance area. The project also includes an interior “breezeway”
connection.

BENEFITS:
The project will expand RCWD's current treatment capabilities and provide additional clean, reliable water to existing customers and regional neighbors.

West Platte Booster Station
DESCRIPTION:
RCWD installed a new booster station West of the City of Platte near the existing Platte West Tank.

BENEFITS:
By installing the booster station, RCWD is better able to utilize the storage potential of the tank, while delivering higher and consistent pressure to area users.

North Platte Waterline Upgrade
DESCRIPTION:
RCWD installed a new waterline North of Platte along Highway 45. The waterline was installed with a self-propelled plow that results in a minimally invasive installation method, increased the speed of installation, and reduced negative effects to the topsoil the waterline is installed.

BENEFITS:
The waterline will be used to improve service to rural farms and cattle producers in the area.

DANR RECOGNIZES RANDALL COMMUNITY WATER DISTRICT FOR DRINKING WATER
COMPLIANCE

PIERRE - Today the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) announced that the Randall Community Water District public water system and the system's certified operators have been awarded a Drinking Water Certificate of Achievement Award. The award is for outstanding water system operations and environmental compliance with state drinking water standards for the past year.
"Access to safe and reliable water sources is essential to keeping our families safe and our economy growing," said DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts. "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of South Dakota's drinking water system operators and
their efforts to ensure their customers have access to clean drinking water."
To qualify for the Drinking Water Certification of Achievement Award, public water systems and their system operations specialists had to meet all of the compliance monitoring and reporting requirements, drinking water standards, and certification requirements for 2022.
TERRY KOUPAL HONORED
The South Dakota Water and Wastewater Association recently presented Terry Koupal with the Price-Rees Award for 20 years of local service in the water and wastewater works field.
